Looking for 1950’s wedding ideas? How about a whimsical tea party with rockabilly bride?
A few weeks ago I was invited to join a fabulous team of local wedding suppliers for a 1950’s vintage tea party wedding with a hint of rebel rockabilly! The shoot was full of handmade and bespoke 1950’s wedding ideas!
Betty, from Bespoke Vintage Castle, who organised the whole event, wanted a “strong 1950’s theme with a soft whimsical tea party with an eclectic rockabilly mix…. incorporing a soft woodsy magical tea party theme to it. This enabled a sense of fun, adding a Bridal softness, and also gives us an opportunity to create a “ideal” in the imagery for the shoot, then brilliantly opposed it with our tattooed Bride”.
The gorgeous models had stunning make up by Rochelle Obrien and vintage hair styled by Sarah from Pin Up Curl. Beautiful vintage inspired dresses were supplied by Frock in Nottingham, with full ivory tulle skirts for the bridesmaids and a gorgeous ditsy floral print dress for the rockabilly bride. The bridesmaids and bride were accessorized with handmade 1950’s inspired hats, button bouquets, lace gloves and wrist corsages by Bespoke Vintage Castle.
The bride also wore an Extra Special Touch vintage lace garter, a little fake fur cape, which had a personalised silk label sewn inside and a embroidered lace hankie… rockabilly and vintage tradition all in one! Perfect 1950’s wedding ideas!
Betty asked me to over see the styling of the wedding table and extra vintage props to helps create the whimsical wedding and vintage tea party theme she wanted. I love any excuse to use my vintage crockery and dig out all my gorgeous old books and bits and pieces!
Our wedding table centre piece was a fabulous naked wedding cake decorated with fresh flowers from Celeste at The Organic Wedding Cake Company. The table was layered with old lace tablecloths, crochet doilies, and vintage embroidered tray cloths. Place settings were styled with pretty vintage china crockery and vintage monogram napkins. Flowers were displayed in glass jars decorated with lace and bakers twine. Old books, glass perfume bottles and vintage pocket watch and binoculars, all helped to create a stunning vintage table. Vintage inspired wedding stationery was supplied by With Love Wedding Stationery and it fitted in perfectly with our whimsical vintage wedding table.
Becky Ryan took a huge amount of photographs and she captured all the beautiful details from every wedding supplier who was involved in the shoot.
