English Garden Wedding Inspiration with Personalised Wedding Garter
What better way to celebrate the beautiful spring weather we’re having than this English country garden wedding featuring our personalised wedding garter Maisie. We were honoured to be a part of this beautiful shoot full of spring colours and dreamy details. Coordinated by Natalie Ellen Weddings and photographed by Philippa Sian Photography, we just had to give you all the details on the blog so here they are! We hear from them and the rest of the team who tell us all about how it was created!
Our range of Luxury Wedding Garters include Nottingham Lace garters, Personalised Wedding Garter, and Silk Garters. Garters can be personalised with the bride and groom name and wedding date.
Styling – by Fleur & Fig
“Before we built the design, mood board and concept for this editorial, we were given 2 key floral colours from Hibbert & Hagström that she wanted to incorporate; corals with lilac highlights. From there, we built a very pretty mood board that encapsulated these colours and developed out our bespoke concept.”
“With personalisation becoming more of a trend across women’s accessories and home, we see this making its’ mark on the wedding world as well; particularly in the details. We wanted this shoot to really grasp this idea of personalisation, to show bride-to-be’s how they can personalise their weddings in super-subtle and elegant ways.”
“We styled 2 tablescapes on the day, to show the different ways to personalise your table; one with embroidered napkins, and the other with beautiful personalised stationery; hand-written notes from the bride and groom on each place setting.”
Cake – by Simon’s Bakery
“I specialise in making contemporary-looking wedding cakes, and the trio of cakes that I made showed off some of the modern design features I regularly use, such as abstract Swiss meringue buttercream brushstrokes and texturing, in addition to experimenting with heights of different tiers. The result is a collection of modern but beautifully timeless looking cakes that complement the shoot perfectly.”
Planning – by Natalie Ellen Weddings
“Personalisation was key to bring to life the romance of the day, so I focused on tracking down the most talented bespoke designers to create the beautiful details for our vision. We wanted personalisation to play a major role without being overbearing, so we used subtle touches throughout styling.”
“Our romantic details continued on the wedding table, with embroidered napkins and hand-written, heartfelt messages for each of our guests. These elements added a lovely sense of sentimentality and emotion for our guests, as well as our loved-up bride and groom. Every detail, from the florals and candles to the cake and make-up was selected and designed to complement the pretty pastel hues of the venue and the feminine colour palette of the day.”
Flowers – by Hibbert & Hagström
“The floral decorations and bouquet were inspired by the idyllic rural surroundings of Bignor Park’s gardens. This inspiration led me to use a selection of roses such as Pink O’Hara, Peony Pink, and Romantic Antike as well as adding touches of delicate pale peach Lisianthus and hints of lilac Clematis to reflect the tone of a delicate, sophisticated, and elegant wedding ceremony.”
“As more and more couples decide to have their wedding ceremony outdoors, there are multiple ways to tailor floral arrangements to suit your day. As the ceremony was small and intimate, the semi-circle floral decoration helped to construct a curated space for personal moments where the bride and groom could exchange their vows. This could also be used as a unique way to design and transform the smaller-scale aspects of your wedding venue.”
Makeup – by Kimberley Louise Makeup
“A popular makeup look for brides in 2019 is fresh, luminous and natural looking skin. Initially, I achieved a soft, dewy ‘no makeup’ look using liquid and cream products. Various shades of coral and neutral tones were used to complement the models skin tone and individual cluster lashes were also added to give drama and intensity to the eyes. Throughout the shoot, the makeup look was intensified using stronger tones of corals and warm reds which worked in synergy with the mood-board colour scheme.”
Stationery – by Beyond V Design
“When designing the stationery for this shoot, two things were my main focus, having something personal and something that looked soft and luxurious. I created a pen sketch monogram incorporating the couple’s initials and used soft deckled edge textured card stock. The finishing touches of hand dyed silk ribbon and wax seals just added that luxury feel to the whole suite. The personalised details were carried through with hand-written notes as place names and keeping those luxury finishes to add texture to the table place layout.”
Hair – by Gavin Harvie Hair
“I wanted the hair to complement the relaxed, modern feel of the mood board, with a touch of romantic glamour to reflect our bride’s personality. With each style, I used a large barrelled tong to create movement, a salt spray for added texture and some clip in hair extensions for more volume. I chose loose boho waves for the first look and a soft, low bun for the second. For the third look, I created a messy high bun which gave a more edgy, editorial feel to match the romantic drama of the showstopper Ersa Atelier gown.”
