How To Order Your Personalised Handkerchief
This step-by-step guide walks you through ordering a Men’s Personalised Handkerchief, but you can follow the simple process no matter which personalised handkerchief you order. After choosing your design from our vast array of beautiful base options you’ll see various personalisation options to make your gift unique to you.
Your Personalised Message
Your first personalisation step is choosing your message. This could be a poem, a message from the heart, a favourite quote or quite simply names and dates. If you’re stuck for ideas we have a whole page dedicated to original verses and poems exclusive to Extra Special Touch that you can choose from. The maximum number of characters will depend on the style of base hankie you choose but the first 50 characters are included in the cost of the personalised handkerchief and anything over this will be charged between 9p and 10p per character. We would recommend typing your message here first to check the number of characters before you choose your base hankie. Get creative with your words!
Choosing Your Font
Next is your font style. We have 8 different styles that we currently embroider. Not all of these will be available on every personalised handkerchief so carefully check with each product before you place your order or contact us if you need any help! We do however have a mixture of fancy and classic fonts for you to choose on each design so we hope there is something that matches your preference perfectly. If you are opting for a longer message (over 150 characters), we would advise selecting a simpler font. Script, Harrington and Times New Roman all present your message beautifully, whilst keeping it clear and classy.
Adding Design Details
The design details are next. You will see the option to add a fancy scroll. This adds an elegant finish to your handkerchief. Choose from a traditional scroll, a heart or a cute flower design. If you have selected to insert a design into your message and have a preference for where it is placed or have any other requests for your hankie you can leave any notes for us here too.
Gift Box Options
All of our hankies are carefully packaged to be sent to you perfectly. However, if it’s for a special gift you may want to add a gift box. This is the next step when buying. We have a choice of an elegant white gift box or a rustic Kraft gift box. These will come with a gifting string and an EST label to complete your special gift. We do not tie our gift boxes but send everything separately as we know you will want to look at your special purchase before gifting it to your loved one. If you are sending it directly to the recipient please let us know in the extra notes section and we can make sure it’s packaged perfectly, ready for them to open!
Embroidery Colour
The final stage is choosing your embroidery colour. We have 36 colours to choose from on the site, from deep burgundies to dusty blues. If you cannot find the colour you are looking for and need to match a certain shade to any other accessories or gifts you have you can find your perfect shade from this Madeira Shade Chart where there are over 200 colours to choose from! If you choose a colour from the chart, you will need to add the shade number to the ‘extra hankie notes’.
